“women’s day” – words that up until not long ago, merely a few months, were so lightly and easily spoken, now sound extremely different.
Just a year ago, on March 8th, you could even say “women’s day celebrations”. You could add “international” and feel the confidence of things that are a global truth. Without any doubt.
That no matter in which language it is spoken – nothing will get lost in translation, and everyone will view it in the same way.
This year, women’s day is not a day for celebration.
It’s a day to admire the courage, resourcefulness, composure, sturdiness, bravery an unbelievable strength of women and men.
In these days, which are especially dedicated to some of us, I wonder about the relations between those who hold the spot light and those who are lit by it.
This women’s day is a single light beam, aimed at the women and men who are kept in the terrifying dark for the last 5 months.
